Senior security engineer
Greetings
Hello and Welcome. Let’s be honest, marketing is not our passion, IT Security is. We aren’t looking for a standard consultant who just wants to clock in and out. We are looking for someone who is a “Blue Geek” at heart, who knows the difference between AMCache and Prefetch, and who would rather work at a company where we discuss shell bags and car license plates than sit through generic sales pitches.
Who are we?
We are Venor. We help our partners protect their systems without compromising on productivity. We are completely self-funded and have never brought in outside financing, we value our freedom and neutrality.
At Venor, transparency is key. Curious about a peer’s salary? Just ask. We make uncommon levels of information available internally, but we never share customer data. We don’t have a sect-like culture where we lift our CEO to the ceiling like maniacs, but we do have a culture where we support each other when it counts (ask us about “The Sec-T incident”)
Your Mission:
As a Senior Venorian, you will have a role where you get your hands dirty. When things go south, we don’t turn it off and on again; we work to resolve issue.
You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy working on long-term projects with demanding customers, mixed with inhouse technical innovation. We create stuff exactly how we want it.
Your quests include:
Incident Response & Forensics: Lead IR efforts and perform deep forensic analysis when our partners get breached (or better yet, prevent them from getting breached in the first place).
Detection Engineering: Build and improve log flows, queries and pipelines. We don’t settle for generic solutions to specific problems.
Cloud & Architecture: Work with security architecture and incident handling in AWS/GCP/Azure and Kubernetes Security.
Threat Intelligence: Monitor the ever-changing threat landscape and analyse new TTPs. You ensure we are updated and always one step ahead of the galactic adversaries.
Technical Advisory: Act as a strategic support and technical advisor.
Innovation: Code automations, bots, and custom tools (Python/PowerShell) to strengthen our MDR services.
Mentorship: Support the next generation of Venorians. We believe in "Hire for attitude, train for skill", and you will be a key part of their development.
Who are you? (Character Stats)
We believe that everything you are interested in, you can learn, but for this specific role, you need to have levelled up a bit already.
Level: You have 5+ years of experience in Blue Team, IR, forensics, or cloud security.
Skills: You can script in Python or PowerShell and have a deep understanding of logs,
detection technology and/or forensics.
Mindset: You want more technical breadth than in a traditional SOC. You are humble ("Be Spock, not a Klingon") and enjoy sharing knowledge.
Bonus: It doesn't hurt if you relate to bullets like "0118999881999119725…3", "42", or know what to find in $MFT.
Why Venor? (Loot & Buffs)
We don't just say we have fun; we prove it through L.A.I.R. (our monthly lab and research days) and S.W.O.R.D. (working together from the office) as well as offsites twice a year where we have focus on a specific theme.
Development: A dedicated education budget of 150,000 SEK over two years to ensure you stay one step ahead of galactic adversaries.
Benefits: Opportunity to buy stocks, 30 days of vacation (+1 extra day per employed year), health insurance, ITP1 like pension, and a wellness contribution of ~5000 SEK/year.
Balance: Flexible work hours and free disposal bridge days. Life happens (dentist, marriage, relocation), and we support that.
Ready to beam aboard?
Join the crew Are you ready to make adversaries across the galaxy worry? About us? If you feel like
